THE RAILWAY
By the 1860's most of Cornwall's most important towns were connected to the capital by rail but St. Ives remained isolated, with the nearest station being in Hayle.

The Museum's railway section was painstakingly collected almost in its entirety by Cyrill Noal, the former curator of the Museum, who had a great love and knowledge of The St. Ives Branch Line.
